1. What cookies are
Cookies are small data files stored by your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, do related jobs. KanadaWorld.CA uses them for sign-in, preferences and security.
2. Essential sign-in cookies
When you sign in, we set session cookies that keep you signed in and protect your account. They are essential: without them you cannot sign in or use account features.
3. Your theme preference
If you choose light or dark mode, we remember your choice in your browser's local storage under the name asca-theme-mode. It stays on your device and is not sent to us.
4. Stripe checkout
When you pay for advertising, a promotion or a business plan, Stripe's secure payment form opens on our site (or, as a fallback, on Stripe's own checkout page). Stripe's script and cookies load only at that point, to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies.
5. Managing cookies
You can manage or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop sign-in from working, and clearing local storage resets your theme preference. Questions? Email info@kanadaworld.ca.
